Our Educational Approach in Schools
The Alhambra Guitarras Foundation works to integrate the Spanish guitar into schools as a tool to make learning more engaging, foster a taste for the arts from a young age, and open the doors to musical culture.
We like to think that music, especially the guitar, can be a language that helps development in many areas, including emotional, cognitive, and social growth. We believe in the power of the guitar to make a difference, as long as it is used actively, inclusively, and with care in schools.
With the help of partnerships with schools, conservatories, music schools, foundations, and public or private entities, we create programs tailored to the needs of each school. Our proposal aims to provide meaning, continuity, and real resources so that the experience is enriching and effective.

How the Program Is Implemented
Our intervention in educational centers is structured in coordinated phases to facilitate an effective, realistic, and enriching implementation:
- Initial assessment and shared objectives: We evaluate the center’s conditions, the profiles of students and teachers, available resources, and the desired level of integration.
- Personalized proposal:
We develop a roadmap adapted to the educational level (early childhood, primary, or secondary), the curriculum framework, and the center’s schedule. This proposal may include:
- Group classes with adapted instruments (such as Pepita)
- Musical awareness workshops
- Special activities (cultural weeks, cross-curricular projects)
- Curricular integration in the music area
- Teacher training and pedagogical resources: Specific training for teachers, both specialists and generalists, using active and inclusive methodologies.
- Monitoring, evaluation, and continuity: Technical support, review of progress, and improvement proposals to ensure the project’s sustainability.
Examples of School Collaboration
Our educational program has been implemented in various forms and contexts with very positive results. Some real examples of collaboration include:
- Public School in Alicante: A school with students in socially vulnerable situations implemented a stable program with Alhambra Guitars ten years ago. The guitar became a key tool for emotional cohesion, concentration, and self-esteem. Today, with the Foundation’s support, the project remains active as a reference space for artistic and human development.
- Music schools linked to the Pepita program: Various educational centers have incorporated adapted guitars and illustrated materials for children, facilitating access to the instrument from the early years of schooling. With the Foundation’s support, these projects combine play, active music pedagogy, and emotional guidance.
- International educational projects with conservatories: Within the framework of cultural collaborations and festivals, the Foundation has promoted the exchange of repertoire, training, and pedagogical experiences between centers in different countries, enriching the educational approach to the Spanish guitar.
These experiences show that the guitar is not just an instrument, but a pedagogical tool with multiple possibilities.
