The Alhambra Guitar Foundation announces the Alhambra International Guitar Competition (CIGA), a biennial competition considered one of the most prestigious in the world. Its ambitious prizes and its firm commitment to promoting and enhancing the artistic careers of its winners make it a particularly interesting and relevant event in the world of guitar.
The figure of the female composer Paquita Madriguera and the anniversaries of Manuel de Falla and Joaquín Rodrigo will be represented in this new edition, as compulsory works for the contestants.
The commissioned work by José Luis Turina: Preludio de Torre Quebrada, a piece that is not compulsory in the final but is associated with an important prize, marks the support of the Foundation and the Competition for contemporary Spanish composition.
