9th Alhambra Junior International Guitar Competition

RULES OF THE COMPETITION
The Cultural Association Trujaman and Alhambra Guitars Foundation founded this competition with the aim of encouraging young generations of guitarists in the study of the Spanish guitar, hoping that it will serve as an impulse and encouragement to further deepen in their artistic trajectories.
1. Open competition for all guitarist, irrespective of nationality, excluding previous 1st winners of the same category.
2. Four categories are set:
- A Category: up to 10 years old
- B Category: up to 13 years old
- C Category: up to 17 years old
- D Category: up to 24 years old
and two rounds: Eliminatory (online) and Final.
Contestants in each category cannot exceed the age limit on 21th October 2022.
3. The pieces must be played by memory, except in the Categories A and B which is optional. The pieces will not be repeated in any other round. The jury is empowered to interrupt the contestant’s performance.
4. The Final round will be opened and free entrance to the public and may be spread or recorded through any technical support. Contestants renounce to any right related to this subject.
5. The Final round will take place at a hall in Valencia. The organization will inform by e-mail or telephone to all the contestants (from the deadline of the inscription) about date, time and place where it will take place the public draw to determine the order of the appearance in alphabetical order of the contestants and halls. 6. The organization reserves the right to modify dates, place and any other unexpected event that may happen.
7. Contestants who pass to the Final Round must duly identify themselves, showing the original ID card, passport or Family Book. Contestants who do not respect the order of the appearance will be excluded of the Competition and those who give false documents will be excluded as well.
8. Three copies of all works should be handed to the Organization in advance by the contestants.
9. The Organization does not accept liability for any harm caused or suffered by contestants to the celebration of the Competition.
10. It is understood that contestants automatically accept the rules of the competition as well as the jury’s decision.
ROUNDS
The Eliminatory round will be held online.
The contestant must complete the CIGA Junior registration form on the website.

Deadline for submission: 21th October 2022.
The contestant must announce in the video before his/her performance, the piece/s he/she will perform, as well as his/her name, the category he/she is applying for and the day of recording of the video.
The results of the Eliminatory round, as well as the list and order of the guitarists who will pass to the Final round (in person), will be announced in the last week of October.
The Final round will take place on 25th and 26th November.
The Competition Organisers will inform the contestants well in advance of the day, place and time of the Final round for each category, so that they can organise the logistics of their participation.
A Category:
• Eliminatory/Final: Performances of the free choice works must not exceed 4' minutes in each round.
B Category:
• Eliminatory/Final: Performances of the free choice works must not exceed 5' minutes in each round.
C Category:
• Eliminatory: Performances of the free choice works must not exceed 7' minutes.
• Final: Performances of the free choice works must not exceed 15' minutes.
D Category:
• Eliminatory: Performances of the free choice works must not exceed 8' minutes.
• Final: Performances of the free choice works must not exceed 20' minutes.

2nd PRIZE: Diploma; scholarship valued of 100 euros; 35% off to buy an Alhambra guitar; bonus valued 50 euros in products of RC Strings catalogue; bonus valued 50 euros in product of Editorial Piles catalogue.

D Category:
1st PRIZE: Diploma; scholarship valued of 500 euros; a concert at the University of Dallas (USA); four concerts: At the Verona International Guitar Festival (Italy), at the Malaga International Guitar Festival, at the Valencia International Guitar Festival, at the Rust International Guitar Festival (Vienna Musikverein), with a bag of trip of 400 euros in each; 50% off to buy an Alhambra guitar and bonus valued 100 euros in products of RC Strings catalogue. Scholarship and accommodation to take a masterclass (High level) during International Guitar Festival of José Tomás-Villa de Petrer 2023.

We use personal data on the following legitimate bases:
- Data necessary for the execution of a contract, being understood as such, the fulfilment of both Manufacturas Alhambra and the participant of these legal bases.

- Consent of the participant, in those cases in which Manufacturas Alhambra S.L. expressly requests it.
iv. With whom do we share personal data?
In order to comply with the purposes mentioned in point ii. above, we will not share your personal data with external service providers on behalf of Manufacturas Alhambra S.L.
- International data transfers
Manufacturas Alhambra informs that, for the management, development and maintenance of this promotion, no international transfers of participants' data will be made outside the European Economic Area.
v. How long will we keep the personal data?
The data will be kept for the duration of this promotion. Specifically, the data will be kept for the time necessary to fulfil the purpose for which they were collected and to determine any possible liabilities that may arise from this purpose and the processing of the data, in accordance with the regulations set out above, in addition to the periods established in the applicable archives and documentation regulations, and as long as the participant does not request the right of deletion.
vi. What are your rights and how can you exercise them?
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation, you may exercise your data protection rights (access, rectification, opposition, deletion, limitation, portability and not to be subject to automated individual decisions) by e-mail at rgdp@fundacionalhambraguitarras.org or by letter to the following address C. Duquesa de Almodóvar, 17, 03830 Muro de Alcoy, Alicante. Documentation proving the identity of the applicant may be required (copy of the front of the National Identity Document, or equivalent). The maximum response period will be 30 days from receipt, which may be extended for a maximum of 2 months whenever necessary.

vii. About automated decisions or profiling
For the management, development and maintenance of this promotion, no profiling of participants will be carried out, nor will automated decisions based on their characteristics be taken in any case.
viii. Can minors register?
In order for minors under 14 years of age to participate in the Promotion, express authorisation to participate in the promotion will be required, which must be requested by emailing rgdp@fundacionalhambraguitarras.org
ix. Commercial use of data
The user who voluntarily and expressly authorises it may receive commercial communications from Manufacturas Alhambra about its products, novelties, promotions and competitions, once this promotion has ended. This authorisation may be revoked at any time, so the data will be kept as long as the user does not express his/her right of cancellation. The data will not be shared with any third party.
